fivefivefour develops Drupal website for the Parks & Trails Council of Minnesota

August 03, 2007
fivefivefour was approached by the Parks & Trails Council of Minnesota with a distinct list of requirements for their new website. We brought in Barb Friberg to develop the look and feel for the website. The list of requirements is re-produced here with links to the new website demonstrating how fivefivefour delivered a Drupal solution to meet their requirements.
- Provide a high-quality, easy to use CMS that allows PTC staff to easily update Web pages
- Provide an automated CMS that automatically moves news and event listings from a main page to archived pages
- Provide a CMS with templates for news and events pages that are flexible enough to allow for adding photos, captions or sidebar elements
- Provide a CMS that enables easy updating of archive pages (i.e. newsletters, Action Team and fact sheets)
- Provide a CMS that can support multiple users
- Work with PTC lead staff to create a logical hierarchical site structure that most efficiently and effectively organizes content
- Provide a dynamic data base system that generates rotating photos, text, tables and quick jump graphics (refresh the page to see new photos & captions) to add to the feeling that the site is constantly changing and being updated
- Ensure Search Engine Optimization so that search engines rank PTC pages higher on their lists
- Provide infrastructure in the Action Team section that enables visitors to identify and contact their legislators
- Provide the infrastructure that would allow PTC to host Community Partner Web sites.
fivefivefour's experience with Drupal made these requirements possible for PTC. We really like the design that Barb Friberg came up with because of its rich look - it highlights the important work of PTC and brings to life the beautiful photography PTC Members provide to the organization.
